“Three horse eve”

Three horses standing close together at the end of the day, drawn in loose black oil pastel on white. A dark smudge of a sun hangs low in the upper right, and the rest of the sky is left open.

The strokes run heavy in some places and thin out to almost nothing in others, so the horses seem to settle into the paper. It's a quiet one, about company and the evening coming on.

Signed original, one of one. 11x17 in, oil pastel on bristol board. Sold unframed.
