Bearded Man in the Pines

A bearded man under a wide-brimmed hat, his face set in hard black strokes, with a thin horizon and a pair of small pines behind him. I painted this in 2014 at the Hotel d'Angleterre in Copenhagen, and it's traveled with me through every studio since.

The hat and beard carry most of the weight. The landscape is barely there, just enough to put him somewhere.

Condition: Sold as is. After years of traveling with me, this piece has some minor blemishes and bends in the paper. I'd recommend framing it so those marks show rather than hiding them. They're part of the character of a well-loved, well-traveled piece.
